Field Sales Professionals

Samtec, Inc. is looking for a highly technical problem-solver interested in exploring a field application engineering role. Samtec FAEs require excellent time management practices and design-in capabilities to support a variety of industries for mechanical and electrical applications.
The position requires a home-office and each FAE is supplied with state-of–the-art equipment to manage their territory. Samtec provides a variety of tools to establish the most up-to-date means of support to the field. Tools such as a laptop, notebooks, tablets and smartphones, are essential to the FAE's success. These devices are supported by customized applications to quickly access customer updates, locations, contacts, product information, and much more! OBJECTIVE:
Become the catalyst that develops innovative design-wins by coupling the customer's technical needs/application with Samtec's product design and development capabilities. Service the customer by any and all means necessary.
PERFORMANCE TASKS:
- Over the period of the first 12 months, work closely with territory manager to:
- Become familiar with Samtec products, systems, and develop application knowledge
- Become oriented with top accounts, support joint customer visits, and develop a territory plan
- Utilize technical sales experience to focus on selling and developing accounts that present the highest ROI for your sales efforts
- Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and engineering to deliver design wins and develop innovative customer solutions
- Immediate challenges the FAE will tackle include the learning curve associated with Samtec's expansive product line and the technical prowess needed to service highly technical customers
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
- Sales growth and design-wins
- Product knowledge
- Customer penetration/relationship development
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years+ of OEM sales experience in a technical industry required
- Component sales experience a plus
- ME or EE degree a plus
