The wire-to-board system is backward compatible with various SATA speeds or parallel ATA interfaces, which eliminates the need for jumpers. In addition, it is hot pluggable for minimal interruption when mating and unmating, and offers a current carrying capacity up to 1.5A. The polarized design prevents incorrect mating and the friction lock ensures a secure connection. Samtec also offers SATA interfaces with 22 positions, which are available in cable mount and vertical board mount.
