Cable Performance Calculator
Welcome to Samtec's Cable Performance Calculator program. Follow the steps below, then click on Submit once all fields have been completed. Please note that all performance data is based on a single line system. After your results are displayed for a single line system, you can recalculate for multiple line systems. For further assistance, please contact our High Speed Cable Group.

1. Choose the series you require based on the pitch and configuration that best fit your application. Click the view button to display a drawing for the pitch/configuration shown in the input box.

2. Specify the wire length for the assembly. Note that this is not a complete assembly length, but just the cable length. The minimum conductor length for our High Speed Cable Assemblies is 06.00" (152 mm) and the maximum is 40.00" (1 m). The minimum conductor length for our High Speed Data Link Flex Circuit Assemblies is 03 .00" (72,20mm) and the maximum is 10.00" (254mm).
Length of Assembly: (xxx.xx format in mm)
(xx.xx format in inches)

3. Enter the Allowable Insertion Loss for your application.
    Allowable Loss: -dB

Please note that this interactive program provides a calculation from our test data based on the inputs provided and does not represent the potential maximum performance of the interconnect system. The data reflects the point where the allowable insertion loss occurs within the cable assembly based from a test circuit with a characteristic impedance of 50 ohm single-ended and a wiring pattern of Q-S-Q (where Q = quiet line terminated to Zc; S - active single line) within the pin field of the connector. Resonances in the loss data which may be caused by impedance mismatches at the ends of the cable assemblies are not included in the loss calculations. For any questions, comments or problems with the performance information obtained from this program, please contact our High Speed Cable Group.
