Card Connector System (HSEC8
Series) increases interconnect flexibility
through a variety of features and mating options. Connectors may
be oriented on boards vertically or edge-mounted and have latching and
board lock options for rugged applications.
They have Edge Rate™ contacts designed for superior signal integrity
through improved impedance control and reduced broadside coupling. These
contacts are designed to expose the maximum surface area to pads on the
boards while minimizing the area exposed to adjacent leads for the best
data transfer rates. Depending on the application, connectors can
operate as high as 2.5 GHz in single-ended and 3.5 GHz in differential
systems. In some applications, the connector may also allow for
looser PCB tolerances than traditional edge-mount connectors.
Typical applications include mating with high speed PCB card interfaces
(HSC8
Series), high speed flex jumpers (HSF8
Series), and high speed
coax cables (EEDP
Series) available from Samtec or other third party
suppliers.
